The stickers below were applied to the 1975 base or the early plain white reflective base with green painted numbers and letters. A county sticker was usually applied to these early 1976 - 1980 series plates. This is the time when the state decided that the base plate would last five years and a renewal sticker could be applied. Prior to this, a new plate was made and issued for every vehicle in the state once a year and expiring on December 31.
The only prior exception to this was the 1943 windshield sticker and 43 tab that went on top of the 1942 plate.

The green
76 sticker expired in June 76, then the state went to staggered
registration,
with registrants receiving a new expiration date based on birth month,
paying a fee between 5 and 16 months,
and receiving stickers dated from NOV 76 through OCT 77.
New registrations since that time are always set to expire in the owner's
birth month
So a plate with a NOV 77 sticker would not necessarily have been issued in
NOV 76
It could have been issued in APR 77 to a registrant whose birthday was in
November.

Early 1976 series with November 1977 expiration sticker. This plate most likely would have been registered in November 1976.
